Kohli & Co. dedicate Nottingham win to Kerala flood victims

Nottingham: Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and his companion on Wednesday dedicated the team’s victory in the third Test against England to Kerala flood victims.

“We as a team want to dedicate this win to the flood victims in Kerala. This is our bit we can do as the Indian cricket team. A tough time there. The victory was much-needed in this series and in context, and to have been clinical in all departments is a victory for the entire dressing room,” said Kohli while receiving the Man of the Match award.

Kohli’s announcement drew a round of applause from the spectators over there and people in India.

Kerala CM while speaking to ANI over Kohli’s announcement said, “In 3rd test match between England & India when India won, captain V.Kohli said, this win is dedicated to the victims. Even from England they’re keeping us in their thoughts. The whole world is sending us love & that strengthens us further to overcome this.”

Kerala has been devastated by floods, leading to over 300 deaths.

Jasprit Bumrah was the star of India’s bowling attack in the second innings as he took his second five-wicket haul in Tests.

Kohli scored 97 runs in the first innings, but converted that to a well-played 103 runs in the second innings as the visitors stayed alive in the series.
