KK’s demise: Singer given gun salute at Rabindra Sadan in Kolkata
Bollywood singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, died after his performance at Nazrul Mancha in South Kolkata on Tuesday.
Reportedly, he fell ill after the concert and was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) where he was declared dead.
Today, West Bengal government gave a gun salute at the Kolkata airport to honour the singer. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee supervised the proceedings and paid tributes to the singer. Along with the CM, KK’s family members were also present at the airport.
KK passed away in Kolkata last night after a live performance here. His body was kept at Rabindra Sadan for some time.
As per the reports, the playback singer’s body will be taken to the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport and handed over to his family, who will fly to Mumbai.
