Delhi: A branch of Kalinga Institute of Social Science (KISS) to be opened in Kandhamal in association with MDH very soon. In this regard, a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed among MDH Spices and KISS in New Delhi on 12th December.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS signed the MoU on behalf of KISS, while Padma Bhusan Mahashay Dharmapal Gulati, Chairman, MDH signed the MoU on behalf of MDH.
As per MoU, the MDH will provide all financial support for KISS- Kandhamal. Earlier, Dr. Samanta requested Mr. Gulati for setting up a branch of KISS at Kandhamal. Mr. Gulati agreed with the proposal of Dr. Samanta and today the MoU has been signed at Gulati’s residential office in New Delhi.
There will be provision for 3 to 4 thousand poor tribal students of Kandhamal district in KISS-Kandhamal.
On this occasion Dr. Samanta thanked Mr. Gulati for his support and said, the land for KISS- Kandhamal has already been purchased. The construction of KISS-Kandhamal will be completed within a year.
Apart from that, MDH has also proposed to set up a 100 bedded hospital in Phulbani town. Dr. Samanta said Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha has aimed for the overall development of Kandhamal. In this regard, I am personally taking initiatives for the development of Health and Education in the Kandhamal district.
Dr. Samanta requested Mr. Gulati to give support in this regard. Mr. Gulati has agreed to open three Spice production units in three different places and to open a School and a Hospital in Kandhamal district. Besides that, MDH has decided to open a 100-room Hotel-cum-resort at Daringbadi of Kandhamal district. It will help in the development of the tourism of Kandhamal district, said Dr. Samanta.
The company has already discussed with the Government of Odisha in this regard. Expressing his happiness Mr. Gulati said, more and more work should be done in the education sector in different parts of India, especially in tribal-dominated areas.
Mr. Gulati has been doing work in the education sector by establishing schools in different places of the country. A new chapter has added by opening KISS- Kandhamal in association with KISS. It is a pride for me and MDH, Gulati added. Among others, Vinod Kumar Bindal, Financial Advisor, MDH and daughter of Gulati and other functionaries of MDH were present on this occasion.
