Kerala continues to record the highest Covid cases in India

New Delhi: India registered 44,658 daily Covid cases in the last 24 hours, said the Covid bulletin released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday taking the tally to 3,26,03,188. Kerala alone recorded 30,007 fresh Covid positives in last 24 hours.

The death toll due to Covid in the country stands at 4,36,861 currently including 496 deaths in last 24 hours. Out of the total reported Covid deaths today, 162 patients succumbed to the deadly virus in Kerala only.

As many as 32,988 patients recovered in the country which took the total recoveries to 3,18,21,428. India has achieved the recovery rate of 97.60 per cent.

The active caseload currently stands at 3,44,899 which constitute 1.06 per cent of total cases, as per the bulletin released by the health ministry.

The weekly positivity rate remains below 3 per cent and is currently at 2.10 per cent. The daily positivity rate continues to remain below 3 per cent and currently stands at 2.45 per cent.

Meanwhile, a total of 61,22,08,542 doses of Covid vaccines have been jabbed including 79,48,439 in the last 24 hours, said the bulletin released by the ministry.

As many as 51,49,54,309 samples have been collected up-to August 26 including 18,24,931 samples in the last 24 hours, informed ICMR.
