Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has tested positive for COVID-19. CM Vijayan, had taken the first dose of the Covid vaccine on March 3.
Taking to Twitter, the CM said, “I have been confirmed Covid +ve. Will get treated at the Government Medical College, Kozhikkode. Request those who have been in contact with me recently to go into self-observation.”

The chief minister’s daughter Veena Vijayan and son-in-law PA Mohammed Riyas had tested positive two days ago.
Former Kerala Chief Minister and Congress leader Oommen Chandy has also tested positive for Covid-19, according to local reports.
Kerala has been witnessing a surge in Covid-19 cases for past few weeks. On Wednesday, the state reported 3,502 new Covid-19 cases and 16 deaths.
With this, the state’s overall case tally rose to 11,44,594 and the toll stands at 4,710.
