Kedarnath Yatra trek has been suspended for the pilgrims after rocks block the road following landslide triggered by rain
Dehradun: Kedarnath Yatra trek has been suspended for the pilgrims after rocks block the road following landslide triggered by rain. It happened near Gaurikund.
Following the incident, pilgrims were halted at a safe location until the incident scene rocks have been cleared. This was done to ensure safety of the pilgrims.
Operation to restore the route to Kedarnath Temple is underway.
District Disaster Management Authority, police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) all are on high alert and have been deployed at the location for requirement.
The pilgrims who are present at the trek are requested to maintain patience and cooperate with the administration. It also said the trek will be opened only after it is completely safe.
