J&K: Two militants killed by security forces in Shopian
Srinagar: Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, police said.
The encounter started late Monday evening. Both the militants are reportedly locals.
Police sources said two militants were killed today in a pre-dawn encounter in Awneera village of Shopian district.

“Security forces started a cordon and search operation in Awneera village of Shopian district yesterday evening following information about some militants hiding there,” police sources said.
As the security forces began approaching them, the terrorists opened fire and were given a befitting reply. This resulted in the two militants getting killed.
The two slain militants have been identified as Sayar Ahmad Bhat, son of Sanauallah of Manchowa Kulgam, and Shakir Ahmad Wagay of Awneera Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir.
The two were affiliated with Ansar Gazwatul Hind (AGH) militant outfit. They were wanted in several cases.
