Srinagar: Two terrorists were neutralized in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Hind Sita Pora area of Shopian district on early Sunday morning.
As per reports, security forces, acting on a credible input, launched a cordon and search operation in Hind-Sitapur area on Sunday morning.
Police informed that during the said operation the fugitive terrorists launched an attack on the search party. The security forces reacted adequately and it resulted in two terrorists being killed.
The identification of the terrorists slain in Shopian encounter is yet to be ascertained.
Weapons and a huge cache of ammunition were recovered from the encounter site. The operation is still underway.
