Jammu and Kashmir 3rd phase voting underway with heavy security blanket

Jammu and Kashmir: In the third and final phase of voting in the Jammu and Kashmir polls people were seen queuing up in the booths on Tuesday, said reports.

A heavy blanket of security was witnessed in and around most polling booths in the state. People queued up in various constituencies to vote in the second phase of the Assembly elections today. Eligible voters in 40 constituencies across the UT are exercising their franchise today.

Polling parties were seen leaving for their respective polling booths with EVMs ahead of the final third phase of assembly elections on Monday.

Security has been tightened in various districts of Jammu and Kashmir as the third phase of polls is scheduled on October 1. In preparation for the third phase of voting in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections scheduled huge number of security personnel have been deployed.

On the third phase of voting in Jammu and Kashmir, State BJP President and candidate from Nowshera Assembly seat Ravinder Raina told ANI, “A large number of people are voting in the last phase of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir… The people of Jammu and Kashmir have participated wholeheartedly in this festival of democracy. These elections have been conducted very well…”

11.60% voter turnout recorded till 9 am in the third and final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections:
