Jammu and Kashmir: 2-year-old among 4 injured in terrorist attack

Srinagar : Four members of a family, including a two-year-old baby girl, were injured after terrorists attacked a house of a fruit trader in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore district on Saturday, police said.

“In a merciless act of terrorism, terrorists fired and injured four persons including a baby girl, Usma Jan, at Dangerpora village of Sopore,” the J&K Police tweeted.

Those injured have been shifted to a hospital and are stated to be stable, a police spokesperson said in the tweet.

According to reports, banned terrorist organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba have put up posters in many places outside the local mosques in the northern and south Kashmir districts threatening the shopkeepers to shut shop to protest centre’s move to end special status to the state under Article 370.

Intelligence officials said that terrorists have resorted to civilian killings and threats to instil fear among the people, NDTV reported.
