Jagdeep Dhankar takes oath as West Bengal Governor

Kolkata: Jagdeep Dhankar, former Lok Sabha MP from Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu, was sworn in as the 28th Governor of West Bengal on Tuesday. He succeeded Keshari Nath Tripathi for the constitutional post.

The Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court Justice T.B Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office and Secrecy to the new Governor at a special function in Raj Bhavan here this afternoon.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, her cabinet colleagues and other distinguished guests were present on the occasion.

On July 20, President Ram Nath Kovind had appointed Dhankhar as the West Bengal Governor.
