International Flights To Remain Suspended Till April 30 In India

New Delhi: Center on Tuesday in a circular said that suspension of international commercial passenger flights has been further extended till April 30 in India.

“This restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation),” an official statement said on Tuesday.

However, the international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on a case-to-case basis, it added.

At present, India has entered into ‘Air Bubble’ agreements with several countries.

Currently, India has bilateral air bubble pacts with 27 countries. These include countries such as Japan, the US, the UK, France Germany, etc

Earlier DGCA had notified that the international flights will resume by March 31 but now the date is extended till April 30.

The government also has been operating special repatriation flights under the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ since May 2020 in order to bring stranded Indian back to the country.

Earlier, Last year the international flights operational were suspended till March 23, 2020, due to the Corona virus outbreak. However domestic flight operations have resumed but International commercial passenger flights have remained suspended.
