Inspiring Story: Father Sold House, Mother Pledged Jewelry But He Fought Against All Odds To Become IAS Officer

You might have read or heard several stories of successful people. Their stories always inspire others and some even follow them. Today we are writing one such inspiring story of a native of Madhya Pradesh who fought against all odds and became an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer.

Name of the IAS officer is Pradeep Singh. He hails from Indore district of Madhya Pradesh.

Pradeep Singh secured All India 93rd rank in the civil service exam of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), 2019. Pradeep stayed in Delhi and prepared for the UPSC exam.

While speaking about his achievement, Pradeep has given credit for his success to his parents. Pradeep says that his parents have done a lot of hard work for his studies and now the time has come to end their sacrifices.

Pradeep’s family is from Bihar but in 1992 his father Sukhbeer Singh settled in Indore and started working in a petrol pump. He also reportedly sold his house to prevent Pradeep’s studies. After which the whole family is living in a rented house.

When the money ran out even after selling the house, Pradeep’s mother Sheela Devi sold and pledged her jewelry to continue his studies.

While going to Delhi for preparation, Pradeep assured his mother that his selection would definitely be in the UPSC.

Pradeep told that his dream was to become a collector since childhood. As a collector, he wants to work for women’s empowerment, security, and the country.

Regarding the selection in UPSC, Pradeep said that he used to study for 10 to 12 hours every day. He had also kept a distance from relatives only to focus on his studies.
