New Delhi: The Indian Railways may soon setup a cyber-crime cell to prevent misuse of automation software on its online ticket booking website. A committee has been formed to discuss feasibility of such a cell.
The committee will consist of six members from various departments such as CRIS, computerization and information systems, signaling and telecom, and vigilance officers and security officials. The panel will submit their report to the Railway board within three months, reported PTI.
The committee will be needed to prepare a blueprint for the cyber-crime cell. They would also have to recommend ways to induct persons with experience handling such cases either on deputation or permanent absorption so as to eliminate scope of manipulation.
The general reaction on the move made by the Railways to form a cyber-crime cell has been extremely positive. While the date to actually form the cell has not yet been released, it will be definitely help travellers from avoiding traps of fake sites.
