India reports rise in Covid-19 cases for the second consecutive day, Omicron tally rises to 1892

New Delhi: India on Tuesday reported 37,379 fresh COVID cases in the last 24 hours. Around 766 recoveries from Omicron have been recorded and the daily positivity rate is at 3.24 per cent.

The country reported a low number of recoveries at only 11,612 cases.

A relief however came from the fact that the number of deaths due to Covid was 124 in the entire nation, the death toll rises to 4,82,017.

However, the active Covid cases in the country stand at 1,71,830.  The total number of recoveries in the country is 3,43,06,414.

The Total vaccination number is 1,46,70,18,464.

It is noteworthy that, as many as 1892 Omicron cases have been detected in India till date.

As per the government of India, over 152.96 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt of India (free of cost channel) & through direct state procurement category. More than 19.69 Cr balance & unutilized vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs.

Today, in the morning the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has tested positive for Covid-19. Reportedly, he informed the same on his official Twitter account this morning.

“I have tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms. Have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch with me in last few days, kindly isolate yourself and get yourself tested,” the CM tweeted.
