India reports 39,097 new Covid positives; Active cases tally stands at 4,08,977

New Delhi: India reported 39,097 fresh coronavirus cases, which takes the tally to 3,13,32,159, according to the data released by Union Health Ministry on Saturday.

The weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.22 % whereas the daily positivity rate is at 2.40 % which is less than 3 % for 33 consecutive days.

As many as 546 patients have succumbed to COVID-19, which takes the total toll to 4,20,016.

A total of 35,087 patients recovered in the same time span, taking the number of recoveries to 3,05,03,166. Hence, the recovery rate remains at 97.35%.

The daily active caseload declines to 4,08,977 in the last 24 hours, which constitutes 1.31% of total cases.

As of now, a total of 42,78,82,261 citizens of the country have been vaccinated including 44,65,231 in last 24 hours.

The total number of samples tested up to July 23 is 45,45,70,811 including 16,31,266 samples tested on Friday, informed the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
