India registers 6,317 fresh Covid-19 cases, Omicron cases at 213
New-Delhi: India registered 6,317 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday. With fresh cases, India’s overall caseload mounted to 3,47,58,481.
On Tuesday, the country had recorded 5,326 new Covid cases and 453 deaths.
Meanwhile, as many as 318 people succumbed to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, pushing the toll to 4,78,325.
The maximum casualties were reported in Kerala (233), followed by Goa with 30 daily deaths.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the active cases in the country account for less than one per cent of total cases, currently at 0.24 per cent which is the lowest since March last year.
Meanwhile, the Omicron infection tally has climbed at 213 across the nation.
