India records 483 new Covid-19 deaths; Daily positivity rate at 2.12%

New Delhi: India reported 35,342 fresh coronavirus cases, which takes the tally to 3,12,93,062, according to the data released by Union Health Ministry on Friday.

The weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.14 % whereas the daily positivity rate is at 2.12 % which is less than 3 % for 32 consecutive days.

As many as 483 patients have succumbed to COVID-19, which takes the total toll to 4,19,470.

A total of 38,740 patients recovered in the same time span, taking the number of recoveries to 3,04,68,079. Hence, the recovery rate remains at 97.36%.

The daily active caseload declines to 4,05,513 in the last 24 hours, which constitutes 1.30 % of total cases.

As of now, a total of 42,34,17,030 citizens of the country have been vaccinated including 1,15,70,629 in last 24 hours.

The total number of samples tested up to July 22 is 45,29,39,545 including 16,68,562 samples tested on Thursday, informed the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
