India logs 2,994 fresh covid cases, active cases at 16,354

New Delhi: India recorded 2,994 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours while the number of active cases increased to 16,354. The daily positivity rate has been recorded at 2.09 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 2.03 per cent, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 5,30,862 with 6 deaths. Three from Maharashtra, two from Delhi and one reported from Himachal Pradesh in 24 hours.

The active cases now comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.78 per cent, according to the Health Ministry website.

The number of people who have recovered from the disease surged to 4,416,831 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 per cent.
