India Logs 2,17,353 Covid-19 Cases,1185 deaths In Last 24 Hours

New-Delhi: India on Friday reported 2,17,353 new Covid-19 cases and 1,185 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said.

A total of 1,18,302 people were discharged. The total number of cases recorded in India stand at 1,42,91,917, total recoveries are at 1,25,47,866, active cases at 15,69,743 and death toll is at 1,74,308. A total of 11,72,23,509 people have been vaccinated so far.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa called for an emergency meeting at his residence on Saturday to take stock of the coronavirus situation. This comes a day after the state recorded 14,738 fresh infections on April 15. Of these, 10,497 were reported in Bengaluru.

India’s cumulative vaccination coverage exceeds 11.72 crores with over 27 Lakh doses given in the last 24 hours, informs Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
