India continues to see dip in daily Covid cases with 25,404 positives

New Delhi: India has been witnessing a dip in new Covid cases for the past few days. In the last 24 hours, a total of 25,404 fresh Covid infections taking the positive tally to 3,32,89,579 and 339 deaths were reported in the country.

With 338 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid fatality has risen to 4,43,213. according to the Union Health Ministry’s report on Tuesday.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 37,127 Covid-infected patients recovered, pushing the country’s total recovery numbers to 3,24,84,159. As per the data, the Covid recovery rate rose to 97.58 per cent.

The current active caseload stands at 3,62,207, which is 1.09 per cent of the total Covid cases reported in the country.

The weekly positivity rate was reported at 2.07 per cent, which is less than 3 per cent for the last 81 days, while the daily positivity rate at the same period was reported at 1.78 per cent, which is less than 3 per cent for the last 15 days.

According to the health ministry’s report, the five states which registered the most number of cases on Tuesday are Kerala with 15,058 cases, 99 deaths and 28,439 recoveries.

Meanwhile, the health ministry’s report also said that a total of 54,18,05,829 samples for Covid-19 have been tested in the country, of which 15,30,125 were tested in the last 24 hours.

India has so far administered 75,22,38,324 doses of Covid vaccines, out of which 78,66,950 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

Besides, Odisha today has reported 428 new covid cases while four fatalities in last 24 hours.
