IAF shoots down Pakistan F-16 fighter jet after it violates Indian air space

Rajouri: Minutes after it violated the Indian air space in Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, Indian Air Force (IAF) has shot down Pakistani F-16 fighter jet this morning.

IAF shot down the Pakistan F-16 fighter jet that fell 3 km within Pakistan territory in Lam valley, Nowshera sector. However, the condition of the pilot is unknown, reported ANI.

“The jets entered into the Indian air space over Nowshera sector of Rajouri district this morning,” a police official said, adding that the Indian fighter jets on air patrol immediately scrambled and pushed them back beyond the LoC.

Meanwhile, India has activated its Air Defence System and its radars are on high vigil to prevent any aggression from Pakistan. All commercial flights in many areas also have been cancelled as a preventive measure.

It is worthwhile to mention here that the Pakistan Army Spokesperson had warned India to wait for a surprise response after Indian Air Force bombed three terror camps across the LoC early on Tuesday morning.
