Horrific road accident: Six dead, one critical as truck hits car in Uttarakhand

Dehradun: At least six people were killed in a horrific car accident in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun late Monday night. According to sources,  the tragic road accident took place at the ONGC crossing at around two in the morning. A cargo truck struck an Innova car travelling from Ballupur towards the Cantt area, resulting in the death of the passengers and leaving one in critical condition.

The critically injured person was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. The identity of the deceased and the critically injured person is yet to be known.

On being informed, the Cantt police reached the site and took the injured person to the nearby local hospital. Dehradun’s SP City, Pramod Kumar revealed that the car was sent flying to the distance after the intense collision with the container.

Police has arrested the driver of the container after the car accident. The police is looking into the cause of the accident. Authorities are currently working to ascertain whether any negligence was involved.

It is advisable that people should drive carefully and take caution while driving on busy roads during the late-night hours.
