In a horrific incident in Maharashtra, a man killed his wife by setting her ablaze after she gave birth to a third girl.
In a horrific incident, a man allegedly killed his wife by setting her on fire for giving birth to their third daughter, reports said on Saturday. The incident happened in Gangakhed Naka of Parbhani in Maharashtra.
The accused has been identified as 32-year-old Kundlik Uttam Kale. The deceased has been identified as Maina.
According to reports, the man used to frequently pick a quarrel with his wife for giving birth to only daughters. The couple already had two daughters and when a third girl was born he killed his wife.
On Thursday night, in a fit of rage, the man poured petrol on her and set her on fire. She ran out of the house and locals tried to douse the fire. In the meanwhile, she had sustained severe burn injuries and died on the way to hospital.
The accused man was arrested on Saturday for killing his wife by the Gangakhed police. The victim’s sister had lodged a complaint with police.
