Helicopter carrying 7 people makes emergency landing in Kedarnath due to technical fault

Kedarnath: A Kestrel Aviation helicopter with seven people onboard made an emergency landing due to a technical fault in Kedarnath. Reportedly, the chopper made landing approximately 100 metres away from the helipad. Fortunately, all the passengers including the pilot are safe.

According to information given by the district disaster management officer, Rudraprayag said to media agencies that the helicopter of Kestrel Aviation co coming from Sirsi helipad to Kedarnath Dham carrying 6 passengers along with a pilot had to make an emergency landing approximately 100 metres before the helipad of Kedarnath Dham at around 7.05 am due to some technical problem.

It is worth mentioning here that the three shrines of the Char Dham Yatra including Gangotri, Yamunotri and Kedranath began on May 10. Meanwhile, the doors of the Badrinath opened on May 12.

Earlier, in a similar instance, a Vistara flight made an emergency landing 10 minutes after taking off in Odisha’s capital city of Bhubaneswar. According to reports given by the director of the Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar, due to hailstorm, the windshield of the flight developed cracks. Following which, the Vistara flight en-route from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi made emergency landing in Bhubaneswar.

As many as 170 passengers were traveling in the flight and all of them are safe, added the airport director.
