Grenade blast at bus stand in Jammu, 28 injured

Jammu: At least 26 people have been injured in a grenade blast that took place at the busy bus stand here in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

Injured persons have been rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) here. Two persons are said to be critical, ANI reported.

According to reports, the grenade went off under a bus inside the General Bus Stand premises in the heart of Jammu city at around 11.30 AM, resulting in the shrapnel being contained to a smaller area.  Most of the injured are reportedly bus drivers and conductors.

The grande explosion in the city comes a week after the Indian Air Force carried out air strikes on the biggest terror camp of Jaish-e Mohammad in Pakistan’s Balakot following the Pulwama terror attack on February 14.

Meanwhile, the police have cordoned off the area and further investigation is underway. More details are awaited.
