Government Of India Bans 47 More Chinese Apps, Details Here

Bhubaneswar: As many as 47 apps have been banned by the latest decision of the government of India as they were operating as the clones of the 59 apps that were banned last month.

According to a tweet posted by DD News, government sources said that the government had also prepared a list of over 250 apps that would be examined for any user privacy or national security violations.

The earlier ban was imposed on popular apps which included TikTok, SHAREit, UC Browser, Helo, and WeChat. The telecom companies had been ordered to block access to all those apps, the same had been directed by the government through a press release.

The apps were deemed to be a threat to the sovereignty of India, and came in light of India and China’s Galwan Valley clash.
