New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Sheila Dikshit died here on Saturday. She was 81.
The veteran leader was admitted to a city hospital at around 10.30 AM today. She died at 3.30 PM while undergoing treatment.
Dikshit served as Delhi’s Chief Minister for 15 years from 1998 to 2013.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi were among the first ones to offer condolences on the former Delhi CM’s demise.

Dikshit underwent a heart surgery in France last year. She recently fought Lok Sabha elections from North East Delhi, but was defeated by BJP candidate Manoj Tiwari.
