Former CBI Director Ranjit Sinha No More
New-Delhi: Former Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director Ranjit Sinha passed away on Friday morning. He was 68.
Sinha was a 1974 batch IPS Officer, who held various senior posts including that of CBI director and DG ITBP. He passed away today around 4:30 am in Delhi.
According to senior CBI officials, Sinha’s death is believed to be due to Covid-19-related complications.
It is understood that he was confirmed positive for coronavirus on Thursday night
He had served as the director of the CBI from December 2012 to December 2014.
He had also headed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and served at senior positions in the CBI in Patna and Delhi before his appointment as CBI chief in 2012.
