Former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar convicted in Unnao rape case

New Delhi : Former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar was on Monday convicted by  Tis Hazari court here for kidnapping and rape of a minor girl in Unnao in 2017.

However, Sengar’s co-accused Shashi Singh has been acquitted of all charges.

The woman was kidnapped and raped by Sengar in 2017 when she was a minor.

Sengar, who represents Unnao district’s Bangermau constituency in Uttar Pradesh Assembly, has been in jail since April 2018 in connection with the case.

Sengar, a four-time MLA , was expelled from the BJP in August 2019.
