First ever artificial rain in Delhi from July 4 in an attempt to reduce air pollution

Delhi: In a first, the capital city of Delhi is all set to experience artificial rain. This synthetic rain shall be experienced in the city from July 4 to July 11, said reports.

According to sources, artificial rain in Delhi will be a part of the steps that shall be undertaken to tackle air pollution in the capital city of India. The entire action plan has been developed by researchers from IIT Kanpur.

It is worth mentioning here that, as many as five flights will spray a special mix of silver iodide, iodized salt, and rock salt into moisture-heavy clouds that will help in creation of rain.

This cloud seeding or artificial rain experiment shall deliver the above admixture and aim to trigger rainfall. The artificial rain in Delhi shall be experienced over northwest and outer areas.

This is expected to offer the people of Delhi some respite from the severe air pollution.
