Delhi: In a shocking incident, a fire broke out at a hospital for newborns in Vaishali Colony, New Delhi on Friday, said reliable reports.

According to available reports, a hospital for newborn babies in New Delhi caught fire in the early hours of the morning. There were as many as 20 kids at the hospital.

The locals spotted the flames and smoke billowing out of the building and immediately called the fire department.

As many as nine fire tenders were rushed to the spot and pressed into action. All the 20 newborns were safely rescued by Delhi Fire Service.

They were then shifted to nearby hospitals. Fire tending operations were still underway while filing of the report.

“We received a call at 1.35 am that a fire broke out at a hospital. We sent four fire tenders first. They told us that there are 20 newborns there and they are facing difficulty as the lane is narrow. We sent about four more fire tenders,” Director, Delhi Fire Service

“We reached there on time and the fire was extinguished. All the children were sent to different hospitals after being rescued. Nobody was injured. They didn’t have a fire NOC, the hospital was just one floor,” Director, Delhi Fire Service
