Mumbai: In a heart wrenching incident, a 20-month-old girl child was killed by her father as mother asks for Rs.5 to buy a snack for the child.
The incident took place on February 2 at Lonara village in Maharashtra’s Gondia district.
The accused identified as 28 years old Vivek Uike.
Sources said, the women asked for Rs.5 from Vivek to buy a snack to calm the crying baby who was asking for Khaja (a sweet dish made of wheat flour).
In a fit of rage he allegedly picked the little girl and smashed his head on door repeatedly. The baby suffered severe injuries on head and died on spot.
She was immediately rushed to Tiroda sub-district hospital where she was declared dead.
Varsha approached the Tiroda police station and filed a complaint against her husband, following which he was arrested.
A case of murder has been registered and Vivek was taken into custody.
The couple were married in 2018; the women had earlier left the house due to his abusive behaviour under the influence of alcohol. She has returned by to the village in 2019.
