Father arrested for raping their 4-year-old daughter in Gujarat
A 32-year-old man was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly raping his four-year-old daughter
Gandhinagar: In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old man was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly raping his four-year-old daughter at his residence in Chiloda area of Gandhinagar district in Gujarat.
According to police, the accused has been involved in domestic dispute with his wife, who left for her parental home about a week ago with her daughter and two-year-old son.
The accused later went to his in-laws’ house and insisted on taking one of the children with him. After much reluctance, the family allowed the girl to accompany her father.
According to the police, after returning home, the accused raped the child during the night while she was sleeping with him. The child cried out in pain, following which the assault stopped.
Later, the girl’s aunt noticed bleeding while bathing her and alerted the family. Her mother was immediately informed, and the child was taken to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital, where a medical examination indicated sexual assault.
Following the complaint, the police registered a case under relevant provisions of the POCSO Act and arrested the accused within hours.
Now the child is undergoing treatment at the hospital and further investigation is underway.
