Elephant trapped for several days rescued in Assam, watch
New Delhi: An elephant that had been trapped for several days has been rescued today. The male elephant was rescued in the Maligaon area of Guwahati following a sixteen hour long rescue operation, said reports.
As per reports, the male elephant was stranded in a gorge for several days in the Maligaon area. Accordingly, a rescue operation was started yesterday by the Forest Department.
The staff of the Forest Department of Kamrup East Division as well as Assam State Zoo carried out the rescue operation. Finally, after long 16 hours of continuous effort the elephant was rescued. It was later reportedly released into the wild to its natural habitat.
