Election Result 2019: BJP gives tough fight to Trinamool Congress in WB

Kolkata: With the counting process for the General Election-2019 underway across 10 lakh counting centre across the country, BJP is seen giving a tough fight to the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal today by leading in as many as 17 seats.

As per the latest trends, Mamata Banerjee’s party was leading at 24 seats in most of which the saffron party candidates coming second in the fight. In the last Lok Sabha election in the State BJP has opened its account with just two seats.

From the encouraging results in West Bengal it seems as if the look east policy of BJP has paid rich dividends  In fact, BJP was looking at states like West Bengal and Odisha to make up for its deficit of seats elsewhere this is one region with a good number of seats that held promise for the party.

With an impressive performance in the state, the BJP is all set to take Bengal in the 2021 assembly polls if all goes well.
