Rajkot: An earthquake of 3.8 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Rajkot of Gujarat on Monday morning, according to the National Center for Seismology.
The earthquake hit Rajkot at 3.37 am, with its center located at Latitude 20.68°N and Longitude 71.02°E with a focal depth of 10 km located at 182km South of Rajkot.
No loss of life or property has been reported as of now.
On the other hand, cyclone Tauktae has intensified into very severe cyclonic storm. As per the latest Satellite observations (INSAT-3D IR) at 06.30 am, the Vortex Tauktae lay centered at 18.6N/71.6E, with a ragged eye.
The convective bands are tightly wrapped and the system is moving towards the Gujarat coast at a speed of approximately 18 kmph.
