Dispur: An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale jolted Assam’s Darrang during the morning hours of Wednesday. The quake struck at 07:54:52 hours on January 17, the National Centre for Seismology confirmed.
Reliable reports state that the earthquake originated at a latitude of 26.55, and longitude of 92.13. The epicentre of the quake was about 20 kilometers beneath the earth surface.
The National Centre of Seismology (NCS) informed about the earthquake in Assam via a post on their official handle on X (formerly Twitter).
