Earthquake magnitude of 3.4 jolts Maharashtra’s Kolhapur

An earthquake of magnitude 3.4 struck Kolhapur in Maharashtra on Wednesday, according to the National Centre for Seismology.

Maharashtra: An earthquake of 3.4-magnitude struck near Kolhapur in Maharashtra on Wednesday morning, according to India’s National Center for Seismology.

The earthquake hit Kolhapur at 06.45 am.

The tremors were felt at 06:45:05 (IST), the NCS stated, adding that the temblor struck at a depth of 5 kms.

The National Center for Seismology in tweet said, “Earthquake of magnitude: 3.4, occurred on 16-08-2023, 06:45:05 IST, Lat: 17.19 & Long: 73.79, Depth: 5 km, Location: Kolhapur, Maharashtra.”

Officials said no report of any casualty or damage to property was reported from anywhere so far.
