Dubai-bound flight receives bomb threat in Delhi via email

New Delhi: A Dubai-bound flight has received a bomb threat via email in Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday. However, upon checking the plane, the threat turned out to be a hoax.

The  Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) at the IGI Airport received the email on Monday at 9.35 am.

Informing about the incident, the Delhi Police said ANI, “On June 17 at 9.35 am, an email was received in DIAL (Delhi International Airport Limited) office, IGI Airport, with the threat of a bomb inside a Delhi to Dubai flight. Accordingly, necessary legal action has been taken and nothing suspicious was found.”

More detailed reports related to the incident are awaited.

Earlier, this month, a Mumbai-bound Vistara flight from Paris made an emergency landing after it received a bomb threat in  Mumbai.

According to reports, Vistara’s flight UK 024 from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Mumbai received a handwritten bomb threat note on an airsickness bag. Notably, the flight carrying 306 people landed safely in Mumbai at 10.19 am on June 2.

Following the incident, Vistara confirmed it and stated, “A security concern was noted by our staff onboard flight UK 024 operating from Paris to Mumbai on June 2, 2024.”
