Mumbai: In another incident of unruly behaviour, a drunk Swedish national was arrested by Mumbai police for allegedly molesting an IndiGo flight crew member onboard a Bangkok-Mumbai flight.
The incident took place on board a four-hour-long IndiGo flight (E-1052) from Bangkok to Mumbai. On arrival at Mumbai airport around 6:30 p.m., the accused, Khas Erik Harald Jonas Westberg (63), was arrested.
The accused allegedly began to misbehave when the flight attendant informed passengers that there was no food on board. The accused agreed to take a chicken dish, and when the flight attendant approached him with the POS machine to make the payment, he inappropriately held the attendant’s hand under the guise of swiping the card.
The woman told the Mumbai Police that Westberg allegedly abused the Indigo staff in front of other passengers after the air hostess raised her voice.
The man allegedly abused the staff and other passengers, according to the air hostess.
On Thursday, the accused was apprehended upon arrival at Mumbai Airport. He was granted bail after being brought before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
