Dog bite victims to get Rs 10k per teeth mark, Rs 20k per wound

Chandigarh: Good news for the dog bite victims, now they are going to get compensation of a minimum of Rs 10,000 per teeth mark and Rs 20,000 per wound, informs, Punjab and Haryana court.

The high court also ordered Punjab and Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh to constitute committees chaired by the deputy commissioners of respective districts to the determine such compensation.

These committees would be led by the deputy commissioners of their respective districts.

The order came out after many incidents of stray dog attacking humans have surfaced in recent years.

Recently, the executor director of Wagh Bakri Tea Group, Parag Desai, died last month, after he got injured outside his home in Ahmedabad while trying to ward off street dogs that attacked him.
