A devotee slipped and got swept away in strong current near Nizam Gate due to incessant rains in Ajmer, rescue video goes viral
Ajmer: In a shocking viral video a devotee is seen being swept away in strong current near Nizam Gate due to heavy rains in the Khwaja Garib Nawaz Dargah area in Ajmer.
According to reliable reports, heavy rain almost a cloud burst like situation was experienced on Friday night. This left the area around Ajmer’s Khwaja Garib Nawaz Dargah waterlogged. Amidst the chaos, a devotee slipped and was swept away by the strong current. The visual of the entire incident has gone viral and has been widely shared on social media.
He was however later rescued just in time by a hotel staffer. It is worth mentioning here that, rains have caused havoc in the area even this morning. The Ana Sagar lake in Rajasthan’s Ajmer has overflowed on Saturday morning, due to the incessant rain and has caused waterlogging in the area.
Ajmer Municipal Corporation Health Officer Prithviraj Singh urged the public to remain at home and avoid areas with waterlogging. He also appealed to the general public, residents of Ajmer Corporation, and the City Corporation to avoid the area with waterlogging problems and refrain from travelling.
