Delhi’s Signature Bridge To Be Open For Public For Tomorrow

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate the iconic Signature Bridge in Delhi this evening. The inauguration ceremony will feature a laser show and the bridge will be opened for public from tomorrow.

The 675 metre bridge is built over River Yamuna in Delhi and is expected to reduce the travel time between north and north-east Delhi besides the traffic on Wazirabad bridge.

The Signature Bridge is the first asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge in India and will offer a panoramic view of the city. The bridge is also being developed as a tourist spot as the 154-metre-high glass box offering a bird’s eye view of the city. It also houses ‘selfie-spots’ for public and elevators will be developed which will take atleast 50 people to the top of the bridge at one time.

Calling it the ‘Pride of Delhi’, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted- Delhi! Here is your pride ..The Signature Bridge ..
Ready to welcome you tomorrow for inauguration ceremony.. 4pm onwards.. Sunday. 4th Nov.

Notably, the Signature Bridge has missed many deadlines. It was supposed to be completed by 2010 Commonwealth Games. After this, the deadline was pushed further to June 2016, then to July 2017 and December 2017.
