Delhi Violence Case: Another Accused Iqbal Singh Arrested

Delhi:  The Delhi Police Special Cell on Wednesday arrested Iqbal Singh an accused in 26th January Delhi violence case from Hoshiarpur, Punjab . He carried a cash reward of Rs 50, 000 on his arrest, said by Delhi Police.

In the videos from Republic Day violence, Singh is seen issuing threats to police who were on duty at the Red Fort. Singh said that he will open fire at them with their own weapons. He was also heard saying that if the gates of the Red Fort are not opened peacefully, then weapons would be used and there would be widespread bloodshed.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Delhi police arrested Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu, who is accused of instigating a group of farmers to storm the Red Fort on Republic Day during the tractor parade. Sidhu was seen in the video footage of the Red Fort violence. He was absconding since then. A Delhi court has sent Sidhu to 7-day police custody.

Delhi Police Public Relation Officer (PRO) Chinmoy Biswal says, there was an announcement of Rs1 lakh reward on Deep Sidhu, who was the main accuse in Red fort violence.

On Republic Day, thousands of protestors did not follow the prearranged route and broke barricades to enter Delhi, clashed with police, and vandalised property in several parts of the national capital during the farmers’ tractor rally.

Farmers have been protesting at the different borders of the national capital since November 26 against the three newly enacted Centre’s farm laws
