Delhi sees two massive fire outbreak, few injured

New-Delhi: A massive fire broke out in three buildings in Delhi’s Azad market area and in Anand Parvat Industrial Area on Saturday morning.

The fire broke out in few shops in Azad Market today morning and spread across three buildings. Some onlookers spotted the fire and informed the fire department. On being informed the fire tenders pressed into service with the help of 20 fire engines.

Five persons received minor injuries in the cylinder blast during the fire fighting operation in Azad market area. They were immediately rescued and shifted to a nearby hospital. All the injured are now safe and in stable condition.

Several shops were gutted in the massive fire and disaster management teams were called to remove the debris of a collapsed building at the site of fire, informed Delhi Fire Service.

In Anand Parvat Industrial Area, ten fire tenders were sent to douse the fire. As many as nine people including six fire department personnel were injured in the fire-fighting operation in the Anand Parvat Industrial Area.

They were immeditely shifted to BL Kapoor Hospital for medical treatment. All injured are in stable condition. Around 12 fire tenders were pressed into action to douse the fire.

The exact cause of the fire in both locations is yet to be ascertained.
