Delhi rain causes chaos, Flights disrupted
New Delhi: The national capital witnessed thunderstorm and heavy lightning in the early hours of May 23. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the surface temperature in Delhi fell from 29 degrees Celsius to 18 degree Celsius between 05:40 AM and 07:00 AM.
The rains have disrupted flight schedules. In a statement, the Delhi airport made an urge, requesting the passengers to connect to the concerned airlines for the updates on flight schedules. Airlines like IndiGo, Spice Jet and Vistara took to their Twitter handles to convey their messages to their passengers.

Heavy rainfall and strong winds have uprooted trees in several areas of Delhi which resulted in roads getting blocked. IMD mentioned that the impact is mostly to be seen on vulnerable structures like Kutcha houses. It has also advised people to avoid travel if possible and stay indoors.
