Delhi Government Announces Free Booster Doses for beneficiaries aged 18-59

New-Delhi: The Kejriwal government announced its decision to provide free precautionary dose of Covid vaccine for 18-59 age group at all government vaccine centres in Delhi. The announcement came after the capital witnessed a rise in Covid cases.

“In order to give the benefit of precaution dose to all eligible beneficiaries in Delhi, the same will be available for 18 to 59 years’ age group, free of cost in all government CVCs from April 21,” the health department said in the order. Necessary changes have been made in the Co-WIN portal for Delhi wherein both “online appointment and walk-in will be available,” it added.

Union Ministry launched the precautionary third dose of Covid-19 vaccine for 18 plus at private vaccination centers on April 10.

All those who are over 18 years of age and have completed nine months of the second  dose are eligible for the precaution dose.

Delhi on Wednesday recorded 1,009 new Covid cases. Masks have been made mandatory and the 500 fine was re-imposed by an order considering the increase in number of cases.
