Visakhapatnam: There has been a cyclonic circulation over Bay of Bengal and rain is expected in Andhra Pradesh, said reliable reports on Wednesday.
According to reports, the Duty Officer at the Cyclone Warning Centre, S Kumar told ANI, “The system over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal of north Tamil Nadu and adjoining south coastal Andhra Pradesh has become less marked.”
The officer further added, “however, the associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 0.9 km above mean sea level under the influence of the system’s light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.”
The “South coastal districts, namely Bapatla, Prakasam and Nellore likely to experience heavy rainfall at one or two places during the next two days. Under the influence of the system, there is a likelihood of squally weather with wind speeds reaching 35 to 45 kmph gusting to 55 kilometres likely along and off south coastal Andhra Pradesh.”
With this system, there is the likelihood of squally weather over West Central Bay and off south coast Andhra Pradesh along and off south coast Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu, so the fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
