Cyclone Fengal: Heavy to very heavy rainfall predicted in Tamil Nadu, alert issued
Tamil Nadu: According to the latest updates of cyclone Fengal, heavy to very heavy rainfall has been predicted in Tamil Nadu and an alert has been issued on Wednesday.
According to reports, heavy to very heavy rainfall activity has been predicted by the Regional Metrological Centre in some parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry from November 26 to November 28.
Cyclone Fengal has been formed into a deep depression and has been formed over southwest Bay of Bengal, further reports said in this regard.
As per the Indian MeT Department (IMD), the deep depression is very likely to continue to move north-northwestwards and intensify further into a cyclonic storm on November 27. Further detailed reports awaited. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea during this time.
The cyclone has been named Cyclone Fengal by Saudi Arabia. A group of 13 countries selects neutral names for cyclones in the Atlantic and the Southern Hemisphere. The naming sequence begins with Bangladesh, then India, Iran, Maldives, and Myanmar. Subsequently, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
